BB873A is the HPE StoreEver LTO-7 Ultrium 15000 internal tape drive. It is a half-height (LFF) drive with a 6Gb SAS interface, and HPE describes it as WORM capable. HPE rates capacity at 6TB native and 15TB compressed, with a sustained native rate of 300 MB/s per drive.
The drive reads and writes LTO-7 and LTO-6 media and reads LTO-5 media. HPE lists a 1024MB buffer, a 600 MB/s burst rate over 6Gb/s SAS and data rate matching from 100 to 300 MB/s native. Average load time is 12 seconds, average unload time is 17 seconds, and rewind from end of tape takes 114 seconds on a 6TB cartridge. Mean time between failures is 250,000 hours at 100% duty cycle.
The internal drive is 4.1 x 14.5 x 20.6 cm and weighs 1.45 kg out of the box, in a 5.25 inch half-height form factor. HPE gives an operating range of 10 to 35 degrees C when 6 CFM of airflow is provided.
