ASR-9001-S is the 2RU Cisco ASR 9001-S router. Its integrated route switch processor has 8 GB of RAM, and it can hold several million routes, which suits dedicated route-reflector use. Fabric capacity is 60 Gbps non-blocking, full duplex, by default, and a licence raises it to 120 Gbps: the upgrade is A9K-9001-120G-LIC, which needs IOS XR 4.3.1 or later.
Two bays take modular port adapters at 1, 10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet. Bay 0 is enabled by default and bay 1 needs a licence. The adapters are A9K-MPA-20x1GE, A9K-MPA-2x10GE, A9K-MPA-4x10GE and A9K-MPA-1x40GE.
Power is redundant AC or DC through A9K-750W-AC or A9K-750W-DC entry modules. Typical consumption is 375 W and maximum is 425 W, with AC input of 90 to 265 V at 50 to 60 Hz or DC input of -40 to -72 V. Airflow is side to side. The chassis measures 3.472 x 17.42 x 18.5 in (88.2 x 442 x 470 mm) and weighs 13.7 kg (30.2 lb), or 16.5 kg (36.4 lb) with two adapters installed.
The standard model is the ASR-9001, and ASR 9000 line cards such as the A9K-2T20GE-L are in the Cisco routers range.
