15454-SMR1-LIC is the licensable product ID for the Cisco 40-SMR1-C card on the NCS 2000 Series. The non-licensable product ID for the same card is 15454-40-SMR1-C.
The license covers wavelength capacity on the express (EXP) ports. The card includes base functionality for the first ten circuits on the EXP ports, and licenses are needed for additional circuits on the EXP Tx and Rx ports. On a meshed or ROADM node the license limits the OCH pass-through circuits that cross the EXP (Tx) ports, and on a node where a side is defined on EXP (Tx) it limits the pass-through or add/drop circuits on that side.
The license is count-based. Permanent licenses come in 10-port increments, up to three sets. Evaluation licenses give full capability, and a card upgraded to a release that requires a license moves to the evaluation period without a traffic hit.
The 40-SMR2-C card carries the matching 15454-SMR2-LIC, and the 15454-40-SMR2-C 40-channel ROADM card is the card that license covers.
