4XB7A80322 (feature code BP3J) is the ThinkSystem 2.5" PM1653 15.36TB Read Intensive SAS 24Gb HS SSD, drive model MZILG15THBLA-V7. The PM1653 is the follow-on to the PM1643a and is a self-encrypting SAS drive using TCG Enterprise, built on Samsung NAND flash.
On a 24 Gb/s single-port connection the 15.36TB capacity reaches 420,000 random read IOPS and 150,000 random write IOPS with 4 KB blocks, plus 2100 MB/s sequential read and 2000 MB/s sequential write with 128 KB blocks. Random latency is 120 µs for reads and 45 µs for writes. The 24 Gb/s SAS interface supports full-duplex data transfer, which the 6 Gb/s SATA interface does not.
Endurance is 1 drive write per day over five years, with 28,032 TB total bytes written and an MTBF of 2,000,000 hours. Data reliability is better than 1 uncorrectable error in 10^17 bits read. That endurance class suits enterprise applications with read-intensive storage characteristics. On a 12 Gb/s connection the same drive reaches 240,000 read IOPS and 110,000 write IOPS, with 1100 MB/s in both directions.
