The A9K-2X100GE-TR is the Cisco ASR 9000 2-Port 100GE Packet Transport Optimized Line Card and it requires CFP optics. The Packet Transport Optimized version is for network deployments where basic QoS is enough. Each of the two ports runs at 100 Gbps line rate.
CFP modules supported on it include the CFP-100G-LR4 (10 km), the CFP-100G-SR10 (100 m on OM3, 150 m on OM4) and the CFP-100G-ER4 (40 km). Two 100GE ports per card come in any slot of the Cisco ASR 9000 22-slot, 10-slot and 6-slot chassis.
The card complies with 802.3ba and offers 100GE PHY monitoring, IEEE 802.x flow control, full-duplex operation and per-port counters. It supports online insertion and removal and runs Layer 2 and Layer 3 together. Synchronous Ethernet and IEEE 1588-2008 timing are available across the line card family, with a suitable route switch processor for 1588.
Optional licenses for the card are the A9K-IVRF-LIC, A9K-2X100G-AIP-TR and A9K-2X100-VID-LIC. Other Packet Transport Optimized 100GE cards in the family are the A9K-4X100GE-TR with four ports and the A9K-8X100GE-TR with eight.
