01KN505 Lenovo ThinkSystem RAID 530-8i PCIe 12Gb Adapter

01KN505 is the Lenovo spare part number for the ThinkSystem RAID 530-8i PCIe 12Gb Adapter, a RAID adapter. It is also sold as option 7Y37A01082, feature code AUNG.

The adapter is built on an LSI SAS3408 controller from the Broadcom MegaRAID 9440 adapter family, with a PCIe 3.0 x8 host interface and 12 Gb SAS port interface. It is a PCIe low profile card with 8 ports on 2 Mini-SAS HD x4 (SFF-8643) connectors and takes up to 8 hot-swap SAS or SATA devices, either HDD, SED or SSD. It is cacheless and not upgradeable, with no CacheVault cache protection. RAID levels are 0, 1, 10, 5 and 50, with a JBOD mode, up to 32 virtual drives, up to 63 physical drives with a SAS expander where supported, and a fixed 64 KB stripe size.

Performance Accelerator (FastPath) and SED support (SafeStore) are included. The adapter takes 512e, 512n and 4K sector drives, supports UNMAP on SAS SSDs and TRIM on SATA SSDs in JBOD. CacheCade is not supported.
