IBM feature #5285 is the PCIe2 2-port 4X InfiniBand QDR Adapter, CCIN 58E2, for IBM Power Systems servers of machine types 8202, 8205, 8231, 8248, 8268, 8408, 8412, 9109, 9117 and 9179. It is a generation-2 4X InfiniBand QDR adapter that provides high speed connectivity with other servers or InfiniBand switches. Each port has a maximum of 40 Gb allotted to it.
FC 5285 has a high-profile tailstock and requires a full-height generation-2 slot. Its low-profile counterpart is FC 5283, the PCIe2 LP 2-port 4X InfiniBand QDR Adapter, which shares the same CCIN. The I/O bus architecture is PCIe x8, the voltage is 3.3 V and the form factor is short. No cables are required with the card, and the adapter FRU number is 74Y2987.
Supported operating systems are AIX 7.1 with Service Pack 3 or later, AIX 6.1 with the 6100-06 Technology Level and Service Pack 5 or later, AIX 6.1 with the 6100-05 Technology Level and Service Pack 6 or later, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 3 or later, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1 or later, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6 or later, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or later. Operating system levels depend on the system the adapter is installed in.
