Dell part number GM5R3 is a 2.5-inch solid-state drive of 400GB, Toshiba model PX04SMB040, that appears in Dell's support matrices for the PowerVault MD3 series storage arrays.
Table 9 of the MD34XX/38XX Support Matrix, revision A25, carries the entry GM5R3 | 2.5" | PX04SMB040 | 400GB | SSD | Toshiba | SED No | AM07. Drives bought under part numbers missing from that table are not supported in those arrays, according to Dell.
Dell's MD32XX/36XX Support Matrix (Rev. A24) gives firmware AM07 for GM5R3. For the 2.5-inch 2U models it lists the MD3220 (6 Gbps SAS), MD3220i (1 Gbps iSCSI), MD3620i (10 Gbps iSCSI) and MD3620f (8 Gbps Fibre Channel), each with 24 drives.
Array rules from the matrices: online physical disk firmware upgrade is supported, and a disk group hot spare must have equal or greater capacity than the members it protects. Base configurations support 120 drive slots, and 2U models reach 192 with the optional PFK feature activation.
Fit check: a PowerVault MD3 array from the lists above, a 2.5-inch drive bay, and the Dell number GM5R3 (or PX04SMB040) on the label. Other drives in the same Toshiba line: M91TJ (PX04SMB080, 800GB) and 77K16 (PX04SMB160, 1.6TB).
