U717K is the Dell part number for a 500GB 3.5 inch SAS hard drive with Seagate model number ST3500414SS, from the fifth-generation Constellation ES nearline line. The 6Gb/s SAS interface (also 3.0 and 1.5 Gb/s) has dual ports, the spindle turns at 7,200 RPM and the multisegmented cache is up to 64 MB.
