This PN provides one 3.5 inch Large Form Factor (LFF) 10TB Hot Swappable Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 7200 RPM HDD (Hard Disk Drive) This Dell HV5CH drive is compatible with the Dell EMC PowerVault MD34XX/38XX Series.
Compatibility and specifications
HV5CH is the Seagate ST10000NM0598 in Dell's MD34XX/38XX support matrix (Rev. A25, Table 9): 10 TB, 7.2K, 3.5-inch, not self-encrypting, firmware RSL2. It is not listed in the MD32XX/36XX or MD3060e matrices, unlike the other 10 TB part on our site, YF87J (Seagate ST10000NM0256), which appears in all three. For drives of 6 TB and larger, Dell's MD34XX/38XX array rules recommend a RAID 6 disk group or a Dynamic Disk Pool, because reconstruction and copy-back take longer and raise the chance of a second drive failure.
