4XB7A14103 (feature code B4C7) is the Lenovo ThinkSystem DE Series 10TB 7.2K 3.5-inch HDD SED FIPS for 2U12 enclosures. It is a high-capacity, archival-class nearline NL SAS drive that is self-encrypting (SED) and FIPS-class, with a 12 Gbps SAS interface and a 7.2K rpm spindle speed.
The drive fits the ThinkSystem DE4000H and DE6000H hybrid storage arrays. Up to 12 of these drives can be installed per 2U12 LFF enclosure. Like all DE Series drives it is dual-port and hot-swappable.
Array encryption on the DE Series requires the optional FIPS drives, and this 10TB drive is one of the self-encrypting FIPS HDDs for it, next to the 6TB model 4XB7A14100 in the 2U12 range. FIPS and non-FIPS drives can be intermixed within one system, but a single disk pool cannot mix them.
The same 10TB self-encrypting FIPS drives are also supplied in a 20-drive pack, the DE Series 200TB HDD SED FIPS Pack (20x 10TB HDD), 4XB7A14169, for the 4U60 LFF enclosure, where up to 3 packs fit. In the 4U60 enclosure the DE Series supports 10TB 7.2K self-encrypting FIPS HDDs as its nearline FIPS option.
