4XB7B09972 is the ThinkSystem 2.5" VA 480GB Mixed Use SATA 6Gb HS SSD SED, Lenovo feature code CBV9. VA stands for Vendor Agnostic: these mixed-use SATA drives are non-vendor-specific and are built from drives of several SSD vendors, with an endurance of more than 3 drive writes per day. This part number has SED encryption (TCG Opal or TCG Enterprise); the 480GB version without SED is 4XB7A90884 (v2, feature BYM2).
Because the drives come from more than one vendor, the performance and endurance values for the family are minimums. At 480 GB that means at least 76,500 IOPS on 4 KB random reads and 43,000 IOPS on 4 KB random writes, 480 MBps sequential reads and 450 MBps sequential writes on 128 KB blocks, and an endurance of 4.7 DWPD over five years, which is 4117 TB written. MTBF is 2,000,000 hours and data reliability is better than 1 error in 10^17 bits read.
The design has a 6 Gbps SATA interface, TLC V-NAND, an Advanced ECC Engine with End-to-End Data Protection, power-loss protection and S.M.A.R.T. reporting. Without the hot-swap tray the drive is 7 mm high, 70 mm wide and 100 mm deep, and it withstands 1,500 G of non-operating shock at 0.5 ms and 20 G of non-operating vibration from 20 to 2000 Hz.
