Cisco ASR 9904 Aggregation Services Router, 6 RU Chassis

ASR-9904 is the base chassis PID of the Cisco ASR 9904, a 6 RU router in the ASR 9000 Series. Chassis PIDs in the family are ASR-9904 (base), ASR-9904-AC and ASR-9904-DC. The slots are horizontal, with 2 line-card slots and 2 slots for dual redundant RSPs that have integrated fabric.

There is one fabric per RSP, running active and active, nonblocking in a dual-RSP configuration, with fully redundant, built-in service intelligence and traffic prioritization. Fabric, feed, power-supply, route-processor and software redundancy are all supported.

Cooling comes from one fan tray with 12 high-efficiency variable-speed fans, ASR-9904-FAN or A9K-9904-FAN, and the fan filter is ASR-9904-FILTER. Airflow is right to left, front to back with baffle, and power module airflow is front to back.

Power modules are 3 kW AC or 2.1 kW DC, and AC and DC cannot be mixed. AC runs N+N and DC runs N+1, with fully load-sharing power zones and no restrictions. AC input is 200 to 240 V, 50 to 60 Hz at up to 16 A, and DC input is -40 to -72 V at 50 A nominal and 60 A maximum.

The chassis measures 10.38 in high, 17.57 in wide and 25.02 in deep (263.65 x 446.28 x 635.51 mm) and weighs 62 lb (28.2 kg) with a V2 PEM, or 114.05 lb (51.84 kg) with 2 RSPs, the fan tray and a PEM. It mounts in a 19-inch rack by default, with 21- and 23-inch adapters available, and cabinet mounting is supported while wall mounting is not.
