Cisco NCS 5500 Fixed Router, 24 x 10G, 24 x 25G and 6 x 100G Ports

NCS-55A1-24Q6H-S is the NCS55A1 Fixed 24X10G, 24X25G and 6X100G Chassis. Its ports are 24 x 1G/10G, 24 x 1G/10G/25G and 6 x 40G/100G. The 100G ports use QSFP28 and the 40G ports use QSFP+, with 4x10G and 25G breakout options, and the 25G and 10G ports are SFP28 cages that also take SFP+ or SFP optics. System throughput is up to 900 Gbps, and route scale is up to 1.1M FIB entries.

The compute side is a 6-core x86 CPU at 1.9 GHz with 32 GB of system memory and a 128 GB SSD. It requires Cisco IOS XR Software Release 6.6.25 or later.

Full line-rate MACsec runs on the 6 x 100G ports and 16 x 25G ports at 10G, 25G, 40G and 100G speeds. Timing ports are 1 PPS in/out, 10 MHz in/out and ToD, with hardware-capable internal GNSS, and the chassis handles PTP, SyncE and 1588 Class B timing.

Two hot-swappable power supplies run 1+1 redundant, in AC or DC at 1100W or 950W. Typical draw is 330W at 25°C and maximum is 450W at 55°C. Two hot-swappable fan trays cool it, and airflow is front-to-back, or back-to-front on this model only. The chassis is 1 RU, about 4.40 cm high, 44.20 cm wide and 55.19 cm deep, and weighs 10.8 kg (23.8 lb).
