BR-MLXE-32-S is the spare chassis for the MLX-32 router, the 32-slot chassis of the Brocade MLXe family (MLXe-32). It is an empty chassis: the switch fabric modules, power supplies, fans and interface modules are separate parts. In the MLX Series chassis bundles the MLXe-32 comes with seven NI-X-32-HSF fabric modules, four 2400W power supplies and eight exhaust fan assembly kits.
The MLXe-32 is 33U high and fits a 19-inch EIA310-D rack. It measures 146.7 cm high, 44.3 cm wide and 68.5 cm deep (57.8 x 17.5 x 27.0 in). Empty weight is 129 kg (284 lb) and a fully loaded chassis weighs 229 kg (505 lb). The chassis does not support 100 VAC input power.
It takes eight power supplies in a 1+1 redundant arrangement, in 2100W AC, 2400W AC or DC, and 3000W AC or DC versions, on a C20 inlet. Cooling is front-to-back airflow. Interface modules install vertically, and up to eight fabric modules fit, and a system supports up to 64 100GbE ports.
