BR-6520-48-8G-F is the Brocade 6520 Fibre Channel switch in a 48-port configuration with 8G SWL SFPs, AC power and non-port-side exhaust airflow (configuration 6520,48P,8G, SWL SFP, AC, NON-PORT EXH).
The 6520 is a Gen 5 switch built for up to 96 ports. Port counts of 48, 72 and 96 are set in 24-port steps with Ports on Demand licences, and ports auto-sense 2, 4, 8 and 16 Gbps; aggregate bandwidth at 96 ports is 1,536 Gbps. Frame-based trunking joins up to eight 16 Gbps ports in one ISL trunk of up to 128 Gbps, local switching latency is 700 ns, and 8,192 frame buffers are allocated dynamically. The switch takes hot-pluggable SFP+ optics with LC connectors.
It is a 2U unit, 429.25 mm wide, 86.74 mm high and 609.75 mm deep, and weighs 16.92 kg with two power supply FRUs and no transceivers. The 6520 is offered with front-to-back and back-to-front airflow, with power connections at the back, and operates from 0 to 40 C.
Brocade began the end-of-life process for BR-6520-48-8G-F on March 5, 2018. The last time order date was June 25, 2018 and the last customer ship date was August 31, 2018. The recommended replacement is BR-6520-48-16G-R.
