CPAK-100G-ER4L is the Cisco 100GBASE-ER4 Lite CPAK module for single-mode fiber, terminated with SC connectors and dual rate for 100G Ethernet and OTU4. Four LAN WDM lanes of a nominal 25 Gbps each are multiplexed inside the module, with lane ranges of 1294.53 to 1296.59, 1299.02 to 1301.09, 1303.54 to 1305.63 and 1308.09 to 1310.19 nm.
Cisco gives the reach as up to about 25 km on G.652 single-mode fiber. The connector is dual SC/PC, and only patch cords terminated with PC or UPC connectors are supported. Per-lane transmit power is -2.9 to 2.9 dBm and receive power is -14 to 4.5 dBm. No FEC is available.
Receiver sensitivity does not fully meet IEEE 100GBASE-ER4, so Cisco intends the module for links under 25 km with Cisco CPAK modules at both ends. Power is under 8.5 W at 70 C, and the operating range is 0 to 70 C with storage from -40 to 85 C. The module measures 11.6 x 34.8 x 101.2 mm (H x W x D) and weighs about 127 g.
Cisco lists ASR 1000, ASR 9000, CRS-X, NCS 2000, 4000 and 6000, Nexus 7000 and 7700 and the Cisco ONS Transport Platform among the supported platforms. The related CPAK-100G-ER4F reaches about 30 km without FEC and 40 km with FEC on LC connectors, and CPAK-100G-LR4 reaches 10 km.
