IBM #AL82 is a 7.68TB 12 Gb SAS 2.5 inch flash drive for the IBM FlashSystem 5200, machine type 4662. Each feature code supplies one 12 Gb SAS solid state drive, and it applies to model 24G.
On the 4662-24G the minimum required quantity of #AL82 is 0 and the maximum allowed is 24, which is also the maximum on the initial order. The drive is a customer setup item and can be installed at the plant or in the field.
The limit of 24 applies to the total quantity of all 2.5-inch drive features (AL6x, AL7x and AL8x), so #AL82 shares those 24 positions with the other 2.5-inch drive feature codes. #AL82 is not compatible with feature ADN2 on the initial machine order.
When feature 5555 or ADNR is present on the order, the maximum allowed rises to 255 per drive feature. Other IBM flash drives are in IBM storage SSDs.
