IBM feature #EL3R is a 64 GB, 1600 MHz DDR3 CDIMM, CCIN 31EA, FRU 00VK196, for the Linux-only Power S812L (8247-21L) and Power S822L (8247-22L). The DDR4 module #EM98 is the 64 GB counterpart for the same two models, and #EL3R is the DDR3 option of the same 64 GB size.
Each feature code is a single physical CDIMM, and memory upgrades must be paired, with both modules of a pair at the same capacity. The Power S822L can hold sixteen #EL3R, giving the 1024 GB system maximum. The Power S812L tops out at 512 GB, which is eight 64 GB CDIMMs.
The base memory is the 16 GB DDR3 #EL3P: two of them on the Power S822L, whose minimum is 32 GB, and one on the Power S812L, whose minimum is 16 GB, with later upgrades in pairs. The 16 GB #EL3P and 32 GB #EL3Q are the smaller DDR3 CDIMMs on the same models.
