IBM Storwize V7000 Model: 2076-12F

The IBM 2076-12F Storwize V7000 Gen2 Expansion Enclosure is in a 2U rack-mount form factor and includes two expansion canisters. It includes 12 Gb SAS ports for control enclosure and expansion enclosure attachment. It accepts 3.5 inch LFF drives and can hold up to 12 of them.

This model provides one IBM Gen2 Storwize V7000 expansion enclosure for up to 12 3.5-inch drives - HDD, SSD, NL or mix

IBM Storwize V7000 was originally developed from Enterprise Level tech, but targeted at mid-range buyers.

One enclosure maxes out at 12 or 24 drives (HDD or SSD) and can be part of a system of up to 504 drives (20 expansion enclosures per 2076-524 control enclosure).

Compatibility and specifications

The 2076-12F is the Storwize V7000 Gen2 LFF expansion enclosure announced in IBM letter 114-046 on May 6, 2014. It has two expansion canisters with 12 Gb SAS ports, twelve 3.5-inch slots and AC power in 2U. It attaches to the 2076-524 and 2076-624 control enclosures; IBM states that 12F and 24F expansion enclosures may not be attached to the all-flash V7000F Model AF6. LFF and SFF expansions can be intermixed, up to 20 per control enclosure. Nearline drive features for the 12F include AHD1 (2 TB), AHD2 (3 TB), AHD3 (4 TB), AHD6 (10 TB) and AHD7 (12 TB). Expansion cables are ACUA (0.6 m), ACUB (1.5 m), ACUC (3 m) and ACUD (6 m). IBM withdrew the 12F from marketing on February 11, 2020, and end of service was December 31, 2025.
