P02381-B21 is the HPE Smart Storage Hybrid Capacitor with a 260 mm cable. It provides backup power for the flash-backed write cache on HPE Smart Array SR Gen10 controllers, and HPE PartSurfer lists the spare as P07474-001.
The HPE Smart Array SR Controllers QuickSpecs list two lengths of the capacitor kit: P02377-B21 with a 145 mm cable and P02381-B21 with a 260 mm cable.
HPE states that the hybrid capacitor is supported only on Gen10 servers or later. Before installing it, HPE asks that the system BIOS be checked against the minimum firmware level that supports the hybrid capacitor module.
The same QuickSpecs describe the HPE Smart Storage Battery as the alternative backup source, a battery that supports multiple devices and is sold separately, and refer to each server QuickSpecs for compatibility.
Fit check: confirm in your server QuickSpecs whether the 145 mm or 260 mm kit is specified, and update the BIOS before fitting the capacitor.
