PD02Y: Dell 7.68TB 2.5 inch SSD Kioxia KPM6XRUG7T68

Dell part number PD02Y is a 7.68TB 2.5-inch SSD with 512e sector format. MD1400 and MD1420 storage enclosures support it as Kioxia model KPM6XRUG7T68 at firmware BA0D, and it is not a self-encrypting drive.

KPM6XRUG7T68 is the 7,680 GB Sanitize Instant Erase model of the Kioxia PM6-R series, a 6th-generation read-intensive SAS drive built on 96-layer BiCS FLASH TLC memory. Sanitize Instant Erase adds crypto erase, a standard function defined by the INCITS T10 committee. Kioxia aims the series at web servers, data warehousing, streaming media and video on demand.

The interface is 24G SAS with single- or dual-port support, running at 22.5, 12.0, 6.0, 3.0 or 1.5 Gbit/s. In dual-port mode Kioxia specifies 4,150 MB/s sustained 128 KiB sequential read and 595K sustained 4 KiB random read IOPS. Endurance is 1 drive write per day under a 100 percent random write load, and MTTF is 2,500,000 hours.

The body is a 2.5-inch, 15 mm drive of 69.85 mm width and 100.45 mm maximum length, weighing at most 130 g and drawing 5.0 W typical when ready on 5 V and 12 V supplies. Power-loss protection, end-to-end data protection with T10 DIF, T10 multi-stream write and Pin-3 power disable are built in.
