QK753B is the HPE SN6000B 16Gb 48-port/24-port Active Fibre Channel Switch: a 48-port 16 Gb switch with 24 ports active. HPE builds the SN6000B in a 1U enclosure that runs at 4, 8, 10 or 16 Gbps, with ports scaling from 24 to 36 to 48 in 12-port steps.
HPE specifies two integrated, redundant, hot-swappable power supplies with built-in cooling fans, parity protection on all data paths and system memory, and non-disruptive software upgrades. Fabric services include hardware-enforced zoning, frame filtering, in-flight compression and encryption, Virtual Fabrics and Access Gateway, with ISL trunking as an option for links of up to 128 Gb/s between 16 Gb/s switches.
The 3PAR StoreServ 7200 and 7400 16 GB virtualization base system SAN kits each include two QK753B switches, dual power. Each ships with a rack mount kit with rails and plenum, an RJ-45 serial cable with RJ-45 to DB9 adapter, power cords and a SAN Network Advisor DVD. HPE adds that optical transceivers and cabling are supplied separately.
Its siblings are QR480B (48-port/48-port Active), QK754B (48-port/24-port Active Power Pack+) and QR481B (48-port/48-port Active Power Pack+). Power Pack+ adds Fabric Vision, ISL Trunking and Extended Fabric software. HPE has since renumbered the SN6000B models with a C suffix in place of B.
