The RSP720-3C-GE is a Route Switch Processor 720 for the Cisco 7600 Series router. It carries a PFC3C policy feature card and an MSFC4, and it has an integrated 720-Gbps switch fabric. The card needs a minimum of Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRB.

Two Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports are on the front panel. Port 1 takes a 1-Gbps SFP. Port 2 takes either a 1-Gbps SFP or a 10/100/1000 RJ-45 connector.

Onboard memory is 512 MB of bootflash, 4 MB of NVRAM and 4 MB of ROMMON. The route processor has 1 to 4 GB of DRAM with 1 GB as the default, and the switch processor has 1 to 2 GB with 1 GB as the default. Two CompactFlash Type II slots sit on the front panel, and there is 2 GB of internal CompactFlash, 1 GB each for the route processor and the switch processor. There are no memory-only upgrade options for this card.

Power draw is 6.66 A at 42 V. The RSP720 needs larger power supplies and a high-speed fan tray in the chassis. It is not supported in the Cisco 7603 router, and the OSR-7609 supported it only in the SRA release train and not in later releases.
