ST2400MM0159 is the 2.4TB Instant Secure Erase (ISE) model of the Seagate Exos 10E2400 SAS family, a 2.5-inch drive that spins at 10.5K RPM with a 2.9 ms average rotational latency. It supports 4KN or 512E sector formats, with the default being 512E.
Eight read/write heads work at an areal density of 841 Gb/in2, recording at 2460 Kb/in and 342 ktracks/in. Sustained transfer for 4096-native and 512-emulation models runs from 124 to 254 MiB/s (130 to 266 MB/s). The dual-port SAS interface runs at 3.0, 6.0 or 12.0 Gb with 1200MB/s per port.
Multi-Sensor Magnetic Recording with dual readers, an 8MB NVC-backed write cache on 512E and 4KN models, Power Balance, RAID Rebuild and Idle Read After Write are built in, together with a 128-deep task set and support for up to 32 initiators.
The drive weighs 202 g (0.445 lb). The annualized failure rate is 0.44%.
In the same 2.4TB capacity, ST2400MM0129 is the standard model, ST2400MM0139 the self-encrypting model and ST2400MM0149 the FIPS 140-2 model.
