This is the 30TB model of Seagate's Exos M, the first hard drive Seagate says reaches 3TB per platter, built on its Mozaic 3+ technology. Seagate lists it as a CMR drive with a helium-sealed design and as the standard model with Seagate Instant Secure Erase (ISE), shipping in 512e format.
The interface is a single SATA 6Gb/s port (3.0 Gb/s also supported). It runs at 7200 RPM with a 512 MB multisegmented cache; Seagate's figures are 275 MB/s maximum sustained transfer, 170/350 random 4K QD16 IOPS read/write and 4.16 ms average latency. Average idle power is 6.9 W and maximum operating power 9.5 W. Ratings are 2.5 million hours MTBF, 0.35% AFR, and the drive-reported operating range is 10°C to 60°C.
Seagate says Exos M keeps the same form factor, interface and cooling as earlier generations, so it installs in a standard 3.5-inch bay (26.1 x 101.85 x 147.0 mm, 695 g). Its data sheet sibling is the 28TB ST28000NM003K, which has the same features at 270 MB/s. Seagate positions both for hyperscale and scale-out data centers, AI and big-data storage, high-capacity RAID and backup targets.
To confirm fit, check that the bay is a 3.5-inch bay with SATA support.
