R5KP7 is a Dell 20 TB 3.5-inch hard drive built by Seagate as model ST20000NM007H, at 7,200 RPM with 512e formatting. Dell lists it in the supported-drive matrices for PowerVault ME5 and ME52 Series arrays and the MD1400 and MD1420 enclosures, with the SED column reading No.
Seagate's Exos X24 data sheet lists the ST20000NM007H as the standard 20 TB model with Seagate Instant Secure Erase: dual-port 12 Gb/s SAS, helium-sealed CMR, 512 MB cache, 285 MB/s maximum sustained transfer, 2.5 million hours MTBF and 0.35% AFR. Power is 6.5 W idle and 9.8 W maximum random read, and the drive weighs 685 g. The SED version is ST20000NM005H and the FIPS version ST20000NM006H, which are different drives from R5KP7.
Firmware matters: Dell KB 000280987 reports that ME4 and ME5 systems with these Seagate drives may log sense key 03/11 medium errors or predictive failures, and sets SYS8 as the minimum fixed firmware for R5KP7. Dell's update requires stopping host I/O.
In the same KB family, FN7VR (12 TB), R0G8W (16 TB) and GPP63 (24 TB) are the other capacities. Before adding a used drive to a disk group, check its firmware against Dell's matrix and match the capacity of the existing members.
More from this family: Dell Servers HDD.
Related parts: GPP63.
