The C1200-48T-4X is a 48-port Gigabit Ethernet data switch with four 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplinks from Cisco's Catalyst 1200 Series, the line Cisco positions as affordable switches for small and medium-sized business networks. The 1200 Series runs a customized Linux-based operating system managed through a web browser or CLI, and adds Layer 3 static routing.
Cisco lists 176 Gbps switching capacity and 130.94 Mpps forwarding, wire speed and non-blocking. Routing supports up to 32 static IPv4 routes and 16 IP interfaces, with up to 255 active VLANs, an 8,000-address MAC table, jumbo frames up to 9,000 bytes and 3 MB of packet buffer. Power is from an internal universal 100-240 V supply. Cisco lists 40.01 W at 110 V maximum power, one fan (29.7 dBA at 25°C) and an MTBF of 1,452,667 hours. It measures 17.5 x 11.33 x 1.73 in and weighs 8.71 lb.
Siblings: the C1200-48P-4X adds PoE+ on all 48 ports with a 375 W budget, the C1200-48T-4G has 1G SFP uplinks instead of 10G, and the C1200-24T-4X is the 24-port version.
Because the uplinks are SFP+, plan the optics separately; Cisco's supported list includes MGB-series 1G SFPs and SFP-10G-SR and SFP-10G-LR modules. Since it has no PoE, it is for data-only endpoints such as PCs, printers and servers.
