P50216-B21 is HPE's 1.92TB NVMe Gen4 High Performance Read Intensive SSD, built on the PM1733a drive, in the 2.5-inch SFF U.3 format with a Basic Carrier (BC). HPE's DL360 Gen10 Plus, DL380 Gen10 Plus and DL385 Gen10 Plus v2 QuickSpecs list it by this full name among their NVMe drive options.
The DL360 Gen10 Plus QuickSpecs adds a note that the drive cannot be used with the SR100i software RAID. Basic Carrier drives fit the BC bays of Intel-based Gen10 Plus and later servers, and the server's drive cage must be NVMe- or U.3-capable.
Read Intensive drives have lower write endurance than Mixed Use drives and suit read-heavy work such as boot volumes, web and content serving, and read caches. The "High Performance" label marks HPE's top NVMe performance tier, above the Mainstream Performance drives. In the same 1.92TB tier, HPE also lists the CM7-based P63829-B21.
HPE's current SSD QuickSpecs tables do not include it either, so endurance, throughput and power figures are not stated. To confirm a used drive, check that the label shows the PM1733a model and the 1.92TB capacity.
