The C0L99A is the HPE StoreEver LTO-6 Ultrium 6250 tape drive supplied in a 1U rack mount kit. The Ultrium 6250 drive holds 2.5 TB native and 6.25 TB compressed, where HPE uses 2.5:1 compression for the LTO-6 figure.
Sustained transfer rate is 160 MB/s native and 400 MB/s compressed, with a burst rate of 600 MB/s over 6 Gb/s SAS, and the data rate matching range is 54 to 160 MB/s native. The interface is a 6 Gb/s dual-port SAS connection, and the external connector is mini-SAS SFF8088. Encryption is AES 256-bit, WORM is supported on LTO-6 media, and MTBF is 250,000 hours at 100 percent duty cycle.
The drive reads and writes LTO Ultrium 6 and LTO Ultrium 5 tapes and reads LTO Ultrium 4. Recording is 16-channel linear serpentine with Reed-Solomon error detection and correction and LTO DC dual mode compression.
HPE PartSurfer lists the rack-mount parts for this kit: a 1U rackmount chassis (403721-004), a SAS interface rackmount kit (780307-001, with cabling and the SAS interface, for 1U and 3U rackmount) and a 2 m external mini-SAS SFF8088 cable (AE470A) for connecting Ultrium SAS external tape drives.
