N3K-C3524P-XL is the Cisco Nexus 3524-XL, the 24-port licensed version of the Nexus 3548-XL. The switch is a 1RU fixed unit with 48 physical 1/10G SFP+ ports, of which 24 are enabled. Cisco lists the N3548-24P-UPG= 24-port upgrade licence, which adds the remaining ports and brings the switch to 48.
The Nexus 3548P-XL has all 48 SFP+ ports enabled, and the 3524-XL has 24. Both XL models share the same 2.5 GHz CPU, 16 GB of system memory and 16 GB of boot flash.
Cisco gives layer 2 and 3 switching latency below 200 ns with Algo Boost; normal mode goes as low as 250 ns, warp mode as low as 200 ns and warp SPAN as low as 50 ns; warp mode and warp SPAN need the N3548-ALGK9 Algo Boost licence. The buffer is 6 MB shared among 16 ports, 18 MB in total.
The chassis takes two redundant, hot-swappable power supplies for 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, with 89 to 91 percent efficiency at 220V, and four hot-swappable fans in a 3+1 arrangement. Airflow is forward (port-side exhaust) or reversed (port-side intake). It measures 1.72 x 17.3 x 18.38 in (4.36 x 43.9 x 46.7 cm), weighs 17.4 lb (7.9 kg) and operates from 0 to 40°C.
