Q6Q62C is the HPE StoreEver MSL3040 scalable library base module. It is a 3U rack-mount unit that enables 40 slots. It is supplied with no tape drives, and up to 3 half-height tape drives can be added to it. A standard power supply is included, and a hot-swappable redundant power supply is not.
The kit contents are a 2.5 m C13/C14 10A PDU power cord, rack-mount hardware, a getting started poster and the power supply. The rack rail extends between about 683 and 900 mm. HPE lists a redundant power supply upgrade kit as Q6Q64A, and the 40-slot expansion module as Q6Q63A.
The MSL3040 library supports LTO-9 Ultrium 45000 and LTO-8 Ultrium 30750 drives, with 8Gb Fibre Channel, 12Gb/s SAS (LTO-9) or 6Gb/s SAS (LTO-8) drive interfaces. HPE rates a 40-slot module at 720 TB native and 1.8 PB compressed with LTO-9, and the library has 5 mail slots per module and an integrated bar code reader. No slot licences are needed.
HPE gives the out-of-box size as 5.24 x 18.98 x 35.04 in (13.3 x 48.2 x 89.0 cm), the base module weight as 44.09 lb (20 kg), and the input as 100-240 VAC, 3.7A maximum. The front panel is a 4 inch monochrome display, and management is over a 10/100/1000 RJ-45 interface.
