CPAK-100G-LR4 is the Cisco 100GBASE-LR4 CPAK module for single-mode fiber. It carries 100 Gbps over four LAN WDM wavelengths at a nominal 25 Gbps per lane, with multiplexing and demultiplexing done inside the module, and it complies with IEEE 802.3ba. Cisco lists it as dual rate, covering 100G Ethernet and OTU4.
The four lanes sit at 1294.53 to 1296.59, 1299.02 to 1301.09, 1303.54 to 1305.63 and 1308.09 to 1310.19 nm, and the reach is up to 10 km over duplex G.652 single-mode fiber. Only PC or UPC patch cords are supported. Version 08 or earlier modules use a dual SC/PC connector; version 09 or higher use dual LC through a removable LC-SC adapter, although Cisco states SC is the officially supported connector type.
Maximum power consumption is under 8.0 W at 70 C. Per lane, transmit power is -4.3 to 4.5 dBm and receive power is -10.6 to 4.5 dBm. Digital optical monitoring is supported. Cisco names the ASR 1000, ASR 9000, CRS-X, NCS 2000, NCS 4000 and NCS 6000 routers, the Nexus 7000 and 7700 switches and the ONS Transport Platform as host platforms.
Two siblings are listed beside it: CPAK-100G-LR4-2K, SC connectors only and dual rate, and CPAK-100GE-LR4, LC connectors and 100G Ethernet only.
More 100G optics are in the Cisco modules category, such as the CPAK-100G-SR4 multimode module and the QSFP-100G-LR4-S QSFP28 module.
