Cisco Catalyst 6800 8-Port 10 Gigabit Ethernet Module with DFC4

C6800-8P10G is the Cisco Catalyst 6800 Ethernet module with eight 1 or 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, split into ports 1 to 4 and ports 5 to 8. It carries an integrated DFC4 forwarding card with one forwarding engine and connects to the switch fabric at 80 Gbps, with 1:1 line-rate operation on all eight ports in both the Catalyst 6807-XL and the 6500-E chassis.

Cisco gives forwarding of up to 60 Mpps for IPv4 and 30 Mpps for IPv6. Table sizes are 256K IPv4/MPLS FIB entries, 128K IPv6 entries, 64K multicast routes, 64K shared QoS and security ACL entries, 512K NetFlow entries, a 128K MAC address table and 16K bridge domains. Port buffers are 500 MB egress and 2.5 MB ingress per port, onboard memory is 2 GB, and jumbo frames reach 9216 bytes.

The module draws 303.68 W, weighs 11.0 lb (5 kg) and measures 1.73 x 15.4 x 16.4 in (4.39 x 39.11 x 41.65 cm). It takes one slot: slots 1, 2 and 5 to 7 in the 6807-XL, any slot in the 6503-E, 6504-E, 6506-E, 6509-E and 6509-V-E, and slots 1 to 6 and 9 to 13 in the 6513-E. It is not supported in non-E 6500 chassis or 7600 Series chassis. Cisco names Supervisor Engine 2T and 2TXL as the supervisors and IOS release 15.2(1)SY as the minimum software.

The C6800-8P10G-XL version has the larger DFC4-XL tables: 1M IPv4 FIB entries, 512K IPv6 entries and 256K ACL entries. The Cisco switches category also lists the WS-C6509-E 9-slot chassis.
