WS-C4500X-32SFP+ is the Cisco Catalyst 4500-X 32-port 10G switch with IP Base, front-to-back airflow and no power supplies. It has 32 x 10GE SFP+/SFP ports that also take 1GE SFP, a 10/100/1000 RJ-45 management port and a Type A USB port, and its optional C4KX-NM-8SFP+ network module adds 8 x 10GE SFP+/SFP ports.
Cisco announced end-of-sale on October 31, 2019; the end-of-sale date is October 30, 2020 and the last date of support is October 31, 2025. Cisco lists the C9500-48Y4C as the replacement.
System throughput is up to 800 Gbps, or 1.6 Tbps with VSS across two switches, with up to 250 Mpps for IPv4 routing and L2 bridging and 125 Mpps for IPv6 routing. Hardware scale covers 4,094 VLANs, 55,000 MAC entries, 256,000 IPv4 and 128,000 IPv6 forwarding entries, and jumbo frames up to 9,216 bytes. The CPU is dual-core at 1.5 GHz with 4 GB of DDR-II SRAM.
The switch takes two power supplies sold separately, C4KX-PWR-750AC-R/-F or C4KX-PWR-750DC-R/-F, at 750 W each, with 330 W nominal and 400 W maximum draw. Cooling is five field-replaceable fans, with C4KX-FAN-R for front-to-back airflow, and MTBF is 199,720 hours. Minimum software is Cisco IOS XE 3.3.0SG. The enterprise services upgrade is C4500X-IP-ES.
