N7K-SUP2E is the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Supervisor2 Enhanced Module, ordered with an external 8 GB USB flash. It is built on two quad-core Intel Xeon processors running at 2.13 GHz with a 64-bit kernel, 32 GB of DDR3 memory and 2 MB of battery-backed NVRAM.
Storage is USB flash with two external USB slots, a Log slot (8 GB) and an Expansion slot (2 GB). The supervisor modules share three USB ports (two host, one device), a 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet management port, an RJ45 console serial port and an RJ45 auxiliary serial port.
It runs in Cisco Nexus 7000 Series switches and needs Cisco NX-OS Software Release 6.1 or later. High availability takes two supervisors, and both must be the same type. Compared with the first-generation supervisor, Supervisor2 Enhanced supports more fabric extenders and more virtual device contexts, with additional contexts needing a software license.
Chassis for the supervisor include the N7K-C7009 9-slot chassis in the Cisco modules category.
