WS-C4500X-16SFP+ is the 16-port Catalyst 4500-X switch, which Cisco describes as Catalyst 4500-X 16 Port 10GE IP Base, Front-to-Back Cooling, No P/S. Its 16 ports are 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+/SFP, and a slot takes the optional C4KX-NM-8SFP+ eight-port 10GE network module.
The switch is sold without a power supply, so the supplies are ordered separately. Front-to-back cooling uses the C4KX-PWR-750AC-R or C4KX-PWR-750DC-R supply and the C4KX-FAN-R fan. The back-to-front airflow version carries its own part number, WS-C4500X-F-16SFP+.
On the 16 x 10GE base model Cisco gives forwarding tables of 64K IPv4 and 32K IPv6 entries and multicast routes of 24K IPv4 and 12K IPv6. The MTBF is 209,330 hours. Cisco IOS XE image S45XU-331-1511SG covers the 16-port and 24-port models, and the C4500X-16P-IP-ES licence upgrades IP Base to Enterprise Services on them.
Cisco announced end-of-sale on October 31, 2019; the end-of-sale date is October 30, 2020 and the last date of support is October 31, 2025. Cisco names the C9500-16X as the replacement for WS-C4500X-16SFP+.
