N2K-C2232PP-10GE is the Cisco Nexus 2232PP 10GE fabric extender. It provides 32 host interfaces that take 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP or SFP+ and support FCoE, plus 8 x 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ fabric interfaces that connect up to the parent switch. Fabric links run over Cisco Fabric Extender Transceivers (FET-10G) with SFP+ optics, or over copper Twinax, giving 80 Gbps in each direction (160 Gbps full duplex) and a 4:1 oversubscription ratio.
Power comes from the N2200-PAC-400W, N2200-PAC-400W-B, N2200-PDC-400W or N2200-PDC-350W-B supplies, and the fan tray is the N2K-C2232-FAN or N2K-C2232-FAN-B. Typical power is 210 W (270 W maximum), with 806 BTU/hour typical heat and 1330 BTU/hour maximum. The unit measures 1.72 x 17.3 x 17.7 inches and weighs 18.3 lb (8.3 kg).
The parent switch can be a Cisco Nexus 5000, 6000, 7000 or 9000 Series. Cisco announced end-of-sale on September 10, 2019; the end-of-sale date is September 9, 2020 and the last date of support is September 30, 2025. Cisco names the N2K-C2348UPQ as the replacement.
The matching airflow-direction power supply is the N2200-PAC-400W AC power supply, and a newer fabric extender is the N2K-C2348UPQ 48-port 10G fabric extender. See also the Cisco switches category.
