IE-2000-16TC-G-E is a Cisco Industrial Ethernet 2000 switch with 20 ports: 16 Fast Ethernet copper ports (10/100), two Gigabit Ethernet SFP/copper combo ports and two Fast Ethernet SFP ports. It runs the LAN Base feature set and supports IEEE 1588.
Inside, the IE 2000 family carries 256 MB of ECC DRAM and 64 MB of on-board flash, and an optional 1 GB removable SD card is sold separately. Cisco rates the family at 3.8 Gbps maximum forwarding bandwidth and 7.6 Gbps maximum switching bandwidth, with an MTBF of 374,052 hours (42.7 years).
The 16-port downlink models draw 21 to 30 W. Power supplies are ordered separately. The 18 to 20 port chassis measures 5.1 x 5.0 x 5.26 inches and weighs 4.35 lb (1.97 kg), and it mounts on a DIN rail, with the Wallmount-IE2k-16= kit as a separate wall-mount accessory. It runs at -40 to 70 C in a vented enclosure with 40 LFM airflow, -40 to 60 C in a sealed enclosure, and -40 to 85 C for storage.
Cisco has announced end-of-sale and end-of-life for the IE 2000 and recommends the Catalyst IE3100, IE3200 or IE3400 Rugged Series as replacements. An IE3100 model of the kind Cisco recommends is the IE-3100-8T2C-E rugged switch, and the Cisco switches category has more.
