WS-CAC-6000W is the Cisco Catalyst 6500 6000 W AC power supply. It delivers 6000 W when both inputs are at 220 VAC, and 2900 W when both inputs are active but at least one is at 110 VAC or when a single input runs at 220 VAC. A single 110 V input does not power it up.
The input is universal, 100 to 240 VAC, with 220 VAC as the nominal high line and 110 VAC as the low line. There are two AC inputs, each with an IEC 320-C19 receptacle, a 16 A input current and a 14 ft (4.3 m) cord whose part number varies by region. Output holdup time is 20 ms minimum.
The full 6000 W is available in the Catalyst 6506-E, 6509-E and 6513 chassis. In the Catalyst 6506 and 6509 the maximum is 4000 W. It needs a high-speed fan tray and runs on Cisco IOS 12.2(18)SXD or later.
The supply is redundant, hot-swappable and load sharing. A chassis holds up to two, and one supply can run a fully loaded chassis. Front-panel LEDs are two green INPUT OK, one green FAN OK and one red OUTPUT FAIL. It weighs 29 lb (13 kg), measures 7 x 8 x 13.5 in (H x W x D) and operates at 0 to 40 C. The WS-C6509-E 9-slot chassis is one of the chassis that takes the full 6000 W.
