ST32000NM004K is the 32TB Instant Secure Erase drive at the top of the Seagate Exos SATA range, which also covers 30TB, 28TB and 24TB models. The default configuration is 512E, and Fast Format can convert it to 4KN.

Twenty heads work across ten discs at 1841 Gb/in2, with 2470 Kb/in recording density and 738 ktracks/in track density. The outer-diameter sustained transfer rate is 285 MB/s, the internal data rate peaks at 2852 Mb/s, and the buffer is 512MB. The spindle turns at 7200 RPM with 4.16 ms average latency, and SATA carries up to 600MB/s.

The drive weighs up to 695g (1.532 lb), draws a typical 2.6A on the 12V rail at startup and reaches ready in 30 seconds typical.

The annualized failure rate is 0.35% at 8760 power-on hours, the workload ceiling is under 550TB per year, and the load-unload rating is 600,000 cycles. Nonrecoverable read errors are limited to one sector per 10E15 bits read. The 30TB model is ST30000NM004K.
