The N520-20G4Z-A is the 24-port Cisco Network Convergence System 520 with AC power. It is a MEF 3.0 certified, Layer 2 and Layer 3 network demarcation device, built as a one-rack-unit zero-touch network interface device for service providers.
The port layout is 4 copper gigabit ports, 16 SFP gigabit ports and 4 SFP+ ports that run at 1 or 10 Gigabit. It takes two AC power supplies, uses front-to-back airflow with five integrated fans in a 4+1 redundant arrangement, and is the commercial temperature version of the 20G4Z family, next to the industrial N520-X-20G4Z-A. MTBF is 371,000 hours at 40 degrees C.
The 24-port NCS 520 chassis is 1.75 in. (1 RU) high, 17.5 in. wide and 9 in. deep, and the AC variant weighs 8.38 lb (3.8 kg). Rack mount kits cover ETSI, 19 in. and 23 in. racks. AC input is 85 to 264 V at 47 to 63 Hz, and maximum input power for the 24-port NCS 520 is 110 W, equal to 375 BTU per hour.
Software is Cisco IOS XE, with bridge domains, Ethernet flow points, 802.1Q and Q-in-Q, LACP, G.8032, PVST and RPVST+, IPv4 unicast routing with VRF Lite, OSPF, IS-IS and BGP, plus class-based three-level hierarchical QoS with deep packet buffers. Service assurance covers 802.1ag CFM, Y.1731, Y.1564 and TWAMP, and Secure Boot, a trust anchor module, TACACS+ and SSH protect the device. Zero-touch provisioning starts from a front-panel button, and Smart Licensing is available.
