IBM feature #1775 is the 177 GB SFF-1 SSD with eMLC for AIX and Linux, a SAS solid-state drive for the internal small form factor bays of POWER7 and POWER7+ Power Systems servers. The drive is CCIN 58B3 and carries FRU numbers 00E6051 and 74Y5294 as a 177 GB small form factor solid-state SAS drive.
Feature #1787 is the same CCIN 58B3 drive ordered for IBM i. #1775 is available for the Power 710 and 730 (8231), Power 720 and 740 (8202, 8205), Power 750 and 760 (8408) and Power 770 and 780 (9117, 9179). On the Power 770 and 780, feature 7578 is a quantity of 150 of #1775.
In the Power 710 and Power 730 enclosure the SFF SSD features 1775 and 1787 are supported on the storage backplanes EJ0D (six SFF drives and a SATA DVD), EJ0E (three SFF drives, a SATA DVD and a tape bay) and EJ0F (six SFF drives, a SATA DVD and an external SAS port with RAID 5 and 6). SSDs and hard disk drives cannot mirror each other. With an SSD in the EJ0F backplane, no EXP12S or EXP24S drawer is supported on the external SAS port.
When IBM i (FC 2145) is selected, one of these is required: disk mirroring (FC 0040 or FC 0308), SAN boot (FC 0837), RAID (FC EJ0F) or mixed data protection (FC 0296).
