00D5028 is a 4GB registered DDR3 module: dual-rank x8 (2Rx8), 1.5V, PC3-14900 CL13 ECC, 1866 MHz, low profile. In the Lenovo Press guide for the System x3500 M4 it has feature code A3QF and a maximum of 24 per server (12 per processor). The guide shows it in standard models G5x, G9x, H5x and J5x.
The guide places it in the RDIMM speed table for Xeon E5-2600 v2 processors. There it runs at 1866 MHz with one DIMM per channel, 1600 MHz with two and 1066 MHz with three. The x3500 M4 has four channels per processor and three slots per channel.
RDIMMs cannot be combined with UDIMMs or LRDIMMs in this server. Pairing 1.5V modules with 1.35V ones is allowed, though every DIMM then runs at 1.5V.
The x3500 M4 offers ECC, memory mirroring and rank sparing. Chipkill is limited to x4-based modules, so an x8 module like this one does not provide it.
Other E5-2600 v2 RDIMMs in that table include 00D5044 (8GB, 1600 MHz) and 00D5048 (16GB, 1866 MHz). For 8GB at 1600 MHz, see 00D5044; for 16GB at 1866 MHz, 00D5048 fits, and the IBM System x memory hub has more RDIMMs.
Fit check: confirm an x3500 M4 with E5-2600 v2 processors, which the guide pairs with 1866 MHz memory.
