C8300-2N2S-6T is a 2RU Cisco Catalyst 8300 edge platform. It has two service module (SM) slots and two NIM slots. It has six embedded 1 Gbps Layer 3 Ethernet ports, no 10G ports, and one PIM slot beside the SM and NIM slots.
Memory is 8 GB of DRAM by default, upgradable to 16 GB with MEM-C8300-16GB or 32 GB with MEM-C8300-32GB, and 16 GB of M.2 storage by default. It holds 1.6M IPv4 routes and 1.2M NAT sessions with 8 GB, rising to as many as 4M routes and 2M sessions with 32 GB.
For SD-WAN IPsec Cisco gives up to 2 Gbps with 1400-byte packets and 1.8 Gbps on IMIX, with 6000 overlay tunnels. In autonomous mode IPv4 forwarding reaches up to 19.7 Gbps and IPsec with 1400-byte packets reaches up to 1.9 Gbps.
Dual power supplies are standard, and typical draw with no modules and a single supply is 89 W. The C8300-FAN-2R fan tray ships by default, with C8300-FAN-2R-R as the reverse-airflow version for NEBS. The 2RU chassis measures 3.5 x 17.25 x 18.52 in, and the minimum software is Cisco IOS XE 17.3.2.
