CG522-E is a Cisco Catalyst cellular gateway for 5G Sub-6 GHz networks. It is backward compatible with Cat 18, Cat 7, Cat 6 and Cat 4 LTE, and Cisco gives its throughput as 2.2 Gbps download and 400 Mbps upload. The antenna setup is 4x4 MIMO on four SMA ports, and four SMA dipole antennas (5G-ANTM-SMA-D) are included.
The 5G bands are n1, n2, n3, n5, n28, n41, n66, n71, n77, n78 and n79. LTE bands are 1-5, 7, 8, 12-14, 17-20, 25, 26, 28-30, 32, 34, 38-42, 46, 48, 66 and 71, and the 3G WCDMA bands are 1, 9 and 19. Two micro-SIM slots work in active/standby mode.
The wired side is one 2.5/10G multigigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port plus an RJ-45 console port. Power input is AC with PoE optional: the PoE model is ordered as CG-POE-AT, and Cisco recommends the AIR-PWRINJ6 injector where the host WAN port has no PoE. Power consumption is 21 W.
The gateway measures 7.6 x 7.6 x 1.5 in (19.3 x 19.3 x 3.8 cm) without antennas and 9.9 x 9.9 x 8.3 in (25.1 x 25.1 x 21.1 cm) with them. It carries 1024 MB of DRAM and 4096 MB of eMMC, and Cisco puts the MTBF at 1,048,340 hours. Management is by CLI, the local web UI or Catalyst SD-WAN Manager.
Related routers and gateways are in the Cisco routers, such as the IR1101-K9 Catalyst IR1101 rugged router.
