ASR1006-X is the Cisco ASR 1006-X router chassis, a 6RU system with two line card slots, numbered 0 and 1. It has redundant slots for two route processors (R0 and R1) and two forwarding processors (F0 and F1).
Cisco lists the ASR1000-RP2 as the route processor and the ASR1000-ESP40 and ASR1000-ESP100 as forwarding processors. The two line card slots take any one of several combinations: the ASR1000-SIP40 with SPAs, the ASR1000-6TGE and ASR1000-2T+20x1GE Ethernet line cards, or the ASR1000-MIP100 with EPAs, which Cisco describes as 100 Gbps high-density modular Ethernet line cards.
Power comes from up to six AC or six DC power supplies in a power shelf along the bottom of the chassis, in positions P0 to P5. AC and DC supplies cannot be mixed. The design is power-on-demand with N+1 redundancy.
Cooling is two fan modules, numbered 6 and 7. Cisco says the common fan modules of the ASR 1006-X provide up to 30% better cooling, and a FAN OK LED shows green for good, red for failed and amber when fans run below the expected speed.
More ASR 1000 hardware is in the Cisco routers category, including the ASR1001-X aggregation services router.
