ASR1002-X is the Cisco ASR 1002-X Aggregation Services Router, a 2RU chassis with an integrated route processor (a quad-core processor) and an integrated ESP and SIP that are not upgradable. Cisco gives it 6 built-in Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports, no built-in 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 3 SPA slots, with no SPAs included by default. It does not support network interface modules and has no EPA slots.
Throughput starts at 5 Gbps on the default ESP and is raised to 10, 20 or 36 Gbps with a software-activated feature licence, so the -X models need a licence change rather than new hardware to grow. Embedded hardware crypto runs up to 4 Gbps. Default DRAM is 4 GB, shared by the route processor, ESP and SIP.
Redundancy is in software, with redundant instances of Cisco IOS XE Software; ISSU is not supported on the ASR 1002-X. The power supply part number is ASR1002-PWR-AC, with -WS, -RF and = variants.
The chassis is 3.5 in (88.9 mm) high, 17.2 in (437.4 mm) wide and 18.15 in (461.0 mm) deep. It weighs 38.25 lb (17.36 kg) with dual AC power supplies and SPA blank covers, and 39.05 lb (17.72 kg) with dual DC supplies and blank covers.
The ASR 1000 family also includes the ASR 1002-HX and the ASR 1001-X; more routers are in Cisco routers.
