C9400X-SUP-2XL is the Catalyst 9400X Supervisor Engine 2XL for the C9404R, C9407R and C9410R chassis, running Cisco IOS XE 17.7.1 or later. Redundant supervisors go in slots 2 or 3 of the C9404R, slots 3 or 4 of the C9407R and slots 5 or 6 of the C9410R. It is built on the UADP 3.0sec ASIC.
The uplinks are up to four non-blocking 100/40 Gigabit Ethernet ports and up to four non-blocking 25/10 Gigabit Ethernet ports. Cisco gives 480 Gbps per slot in all three chassis, where the C9400X-SUP-2 is rated at 240 Gbps per slot, and centralized wired capacity of up to 9.6 Tbps with a forwarding rate of 3 Bpps for IPv4 and IPv6.
On board are 16 GB of DRAM, 20 GB of flash and a 960 GB SSD, with a 108 MB packet buffer. Scale reaches 128,000 MAC addresses and 256,000 IPv4 and IPv6 routes on the custom SDM template, 384,000 IPv4 and 192,000 IPv6 Flexible NetFlow entries, 4,096 VLAN IDs and jumbo frames to 9,216 bytes.
The module draws up to 600 W, measures 1.6 x 14.92 x 14.57 in, weighs 11.5 lb and has an MTBF of 304,315 hours.
