IBM feature #EM64 is a 64 GB DDR4 memory DIMM, CCIN 325A, for the POWER9 servers Power AC922 (machine type 8335), Power L922 (9008), and Power S914, S922 and S924 (9009). Each feature code equates to a single physical DIMM. On the Power S914, S922 and S924 the 64 GB DIMM is a two-rank (2R) registered DDR4 DIMM, and in the Power AC922 it is a 2666 MHz DDR4 RDIMM.
On the Power AC922 all 16 memory DIMM slots must be populated and memory features cannot be mixed, so sixteen #EM64 total 1024 GB. On the Power S914 the maximum is 16 DIMMs, so sixteen 64 GB DIMMs total 1 TB of system memory, and on the Power S922, S924 and L922 it is 32 DIMMs. Memory on those servers is ordered in pairs, and different sizes and configurations run at 2133, 2400 or 2666 Mbps.
The 4-core processor module (#EP10 on the Power S914) is available only with the 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB sizes, so #EM64 applies to the 6-core and 8-core modules there. A server with one processor module needs at least 32 GB of memory and a two-module Power S922 or S924 needs at least 64 GB.
